An ice maker is a short chain, and the diagnostic walks it in order. Freezer temperature first, because a module will not cycle above a set point and a warm freezer is a refrigerator problem, not an ice maker problem. Then water: shutoff open, line unkinked, filter age, and a measured fill into the mold with a meter on the valve solenoid while it energizes. Then the module: forced harvest, ejector motion, thermostat or thermistor reading, heater on a tray-style unit. Then the board’s call for ice on a newer refrigerator.
